Nick and Nicky Kinson

Nick and Nicky Kinson are from Great Britain (Cardiff in Wales originally) and we moved here in 2007 with our dream to build a high quality campsite in Central Bulgaria.

Our love affair with Bulgaria started on our honeymoon in 2005 when we toured here in our beloved and well-travelled Swift Sundance motor home. We travelled through most of Europe and experienced a wide range of campsites. As we were both looking for a new challenge we searched extensively to find an ideal location to build our dream campsite and so our adventure began.

With the help of our Bulgarian builders, the first stage of construction occurred on 4th December 2007. During 2008 we built our cafe bar / reception, house, shower block and swimming pool. To build the camping area, Nick laid over 1 km of electricity cables, fresh-water pipes and waste-water drainage before depositing over 1000 tons of material on the roadways, which were then rolled for 7 days by an old Russian mechanical roller weighing 32 tons. All of the hard work paid off and we welcomed our first guests in the summer of 2009.

Every year we are working on making our campsite better for you and the natural environment.

We have embarked on an ecological development plan to introduce beautiful trees and plants to our campsite. So far we have 127 mixed variety trees, some are fruit trees, but most are being grown to provide shade and to promote local wildlife. Our gardens are maturing each year and they receive much adulation from campers and locals alike. Our gardener is bringing our dream to life through a blaze of colour throughout the camping season. We are making new garden areas for relaxing and enjoying the magnificent Bulgarian countryside views.

We are delighted that our place has been so readily accepted by our Bulgarian neighbours and we have been made to feel like an integral part of our local community.

Our village choir sing regularly at the campsite, and the villagers drop in for a cold beer and a bite to eat on summer evenings. Our staff are mostly from our village or the next town and they share our wish to become the best campsite in the Balkans.

We hope you enjoy your stay with us.

Best wishes for a happy holiday!
